Trouble Logging In

The most common reason for receiving an error message is if one or more pieces of the information entered do not match what we have on file. Please review the information entered to ensure that it's accurate.

Double check the user name you are entering by using our Forgot User Name functionality, which is a very simple process. We highly encourage this as a first step.

Some helpful tips to recall your existing T. Rowe Price user name:

  1. It must be between 6 and 32 characters long
  2. It cannot be the same as your password
  3. It cannot be the same as your Social Security number
  4. It cannot contain spaces or the following characters:
    " % & ' + ; = , ^ `{} > <

Retrieving your user name is an easy two-step process:

Step 1. Follow the on-screen instructions to provide the information associated with your account. An email with an access code will be sent to the email address currently associated with the account.

Important— After submitting this information, the screen will update, asking for a access code to be entered. Please do not leave or close the browser window, because doing so will require you to repeat the process.

Step 2. You will use the access code delivered by email to retrieve the current user name associated with your online access.

If you haven't received the email after several minutes check your junk and spam folder for an email titled:
"T. Rowe Price – Login and Security Information Alert".

Password Troubleshooting
  1. It is case sensitive
  2. It cannot be the same as your user name
  3. It must be between 8 and 32 characters
  4. It must have at least two letters and two special characters or numbers
  5. It can include special characters except: , + " % & ' ; = ^ {}
  6. It cannot have more than three repetitive (case-sensitive) characters (For example, aaa2468 is acceptable, and AaAa2467 is acceptable. QRb1111 is not acceptable, and aaaa1357 is also not acceptable.)

Resetting your password is an easy two-step process.

Step 1. Follow the on-screen instructions to provide the user name associated with your account.

Two-Factor Authentication Method

We have upgraded our login technology and processes to use an industry-leading risk-based approach to better protect your accounts. If you are not asked a question, it is because we feel confident that there is no risk of fraudulent behavior. It is T. Rowe Price policy not to discuss security specific details.

If you prefer the additional layer of authentication and want to always see a security question (or be challenged with the two-factor method of your choice) please log in to your account, locate your profile information, and check the box to "Ask me for my selected log in security method every time I log in" or "Challenge me every time I login".

Plan sponsors, advisors, and auditors must call the help desk and request this option to be selected for them.

  1. Your answers must be 3 to 20 characters long, including spaces. Answers are not case sensitive.
  2. Use one-word answers; avoid words such as "and," "the," etc.
  3. Follow the recommended format. For example, if your security question is "What is your mother's date of birth?" use the preferred format (MMDD).
  4. Avoid odd answers; you may not remember them in the future.
  5. Note the key words. If your security question is "What is your father's middle name?," do not enter "Jason Thompson."
  6. Be careful with spaces. For example, if you enter "New York" as one of your answers, the system will reject "Newyork."
